Millionaire

For all them folks that can’t stand waiting
Looking for them financial six minute abs
All stretched out on the credit
Ready to burn them plastic little slabs
Well there’s hope or so I’ve heard
For folks down on their luck
Send a self addressed stamped envelope
Along with fifty bucks
Exchange them dollars into dong
Voila!
Your’re a millionaire in Vietnam
Now don’t go getting all that eager
It ain’t as simple as you might think
Over there in ‘nam it’ll cost you
A hundred thousand dong for that five hour energy drink
They got notes to half a million
Over in the states your’re sure to get a stare
Fold a couple in your pocket
You’re a dong millionaire
Exchange them dollars into dong
Voila!
You’re a millionaire in Vietnam
Over there in Zimbabwe
Used to have a one hundred trillion dollar bill
And for a couple bucks on ebay
You can probably find yourself one still
Oh that runaway inflation
Playing that paper game has got you blue
Like the saying goes in Russia
It’s paper game play you
Exchange them dollars into dong
Voila!
You’re a millionaire in Vietnam
WoooooHoooo that national debt just keep on rising
All it do is just climb climb climb climb climb
One of these days this fifty dollars
Might not even be worth a dime
Forget all that you’re just fine
Need a quick fix my friend you’re in luck
Send a self addressed stamped envelope

Boats Down
02:43
|
|||
All it takes is the spray and the brine to make a deck hands wine
And leave you drunk and in love with the wind and the waves
Best keep your head lest you wind up dead
In the cold embrace of a watery grave
Boats down oars in the water Boats down off through the sea
Boats down singing to my fair maiden my heart belongs to thee
It could be three years or more fore I return to this shore
May our love have not gone cold
For it’s a promise this ring and it’s fortune I’ll bring
Returning with the oil flowing o’er the hold
Boats down oars in the water Boats down off through the sea
Boats down singing to my fair maiden my heart belongs to thee
It’s to be a worldwide trip on board this ship
Powered by the wind and the breeze
So to reach me by mail send it off in a gale and address it to the seven seas
Boats down oars in the water Boats down off through the sea
Boats down singing to my fair maiden my heart belongs to thee
Once we come around to the cruising ground
A foreboding feeling hung in the air
Looked me right in the eye as the harpoon bit his side
Then split the ships asunder not a soul was spared
Now I sink down deep through the water sink down to the bottom of the sea
Sink down a chorus of sperm-a-ceti singing my funeral elegy
My fair maiden I shant return to thee

Nantucket
04:25
|
|||
Ferry pulls away to steam the waters oh so deep
Nothing out of place the homes lay half asleep
I can’t help but think this day were created just for me
Oh Nantucket like walking into a dream
Young since 1931 been cycle logically
The best way to see the isle for a mainland escapee
So grab a bell a basket and a bicycle built for two
Oh Nantucket so nice being here with you
Hit that road named Milestone and you’re well on your way
Cotton candy clouds the bluest skies a perfect day
Sconset beach is within reach once main hits gully road
Oh Nantucket that waters awful cold
Grab a bite to eat then ride the streets ‘round Siasconset town
Cottages and fishing shacks brilliant colors all around
Make your way to Sankaty head light high on the eastern shore
Oh Nantucket my legs are awful sore
Start heading back down Polpis path through the bushes and the trees
Up and down you spin along just digging that new England breeze
Steamboat wharf coming up in another mile or two
Oh Nantucket its about time to be leaving you
Ferry pulls away to steam the waters oh so deep
Nothing out of place the homes lay half asleep
I can’t help but think this day were created just for me
Oh Nantucket I’m coming back you’ll see
Oh Nantucket I’m coming back you’ll see
Oh Nantucket I’m coming back you’ll see

Jonah
05:49
|
|||
Word of Jah to Jonah came
To Nineveh go and proclaim against her
Evil there is on the rise
Whats right is wrong whats wrong is right
But there’s hope still
Jonah run away
He tried to escape
He said I ain’t no Shadrach, Meschach or Abednego
I’m just Jo
Hopped a ship bound for the outer rim
The noon day sun is getting dim and the storms rage
Seas so rough they nearly died til Jonah thrown over the side
And the storms cease
But Jonah he can’t swim
A great fish come up and swallow him
This weren’t no mammoth salmon tuna or no yellow tail
It’s a whale
And the blues rain down like hail
Belly of the beast for three nights and days
Jonah screams he cries he prays he calls out
Now I say with my final moan salvations with YHWH alone
And no other
YHWH to the whale command
Spit out that boy there on the dry land
Among the krill and swill he spill forth from the mighty jowl
He smell so foul
Word of Jah to Jonah came again
And now he walked through Nineveh proclaiming
Forty days til you’re overthrown
Word reached the king he rose from his throne declaring
And the king said Nineveh repent
Turn from our evil this God may yet relent
The went all in changed from within and Jah removed the threat
But Jo’s upset
Jonah complains it’s so unfair
That YHWH should choose to spare this wicked people
Thrown down on the ground and yelled just let me die
For days he stays and starts to fry when a tree grows
Jah provide Jonah shade
Then let a worm eat up what had been made
Jo sit and rant pitied the plant
But not the Ninevee
O Jo can’t you see
O Jo can’t you see

Well the worlds gone helter skelter
And I’m heading for the shelter
This sure ain’t just the sniffles no no no
Things have raised to quite a scare
Gremlins floating through the air
No magic pill to take oh no no no
That firewall just blazing red
Who knows how many are really dead
The info can’t be trusted can’t you see
It’s a sci-fi horror tale
Here comes the plague we’ve seen the hail
Creating superbugs in a bio tech facility
They opened the cage and let the beast run free
This ain’t from no dang snake fricassee
Why it’s the makings of a biological attack
C-O-R O-N-A V-I-R U-S-A
You best believe they got the crosshairs square right on our backs
One more time
Well the worlds gone helter skelter
And I’m heading for the shelter
This sure ain’t just the sniffles no no no
Things have raised to quite a scare
Gremlins floating through the air
No magic pill to take oh no no no
That firewall just blazing red

Quinoa Cowboy
02:48
|
|||
I’m eating quinoa cowboy burgers
For lunch on a Saturday
Later on it’s Vikings 49ers
And I’m probably gonna watch them play
It’s the second week in January
Feels like it’s the first of May
I’m eating quinoa cowboy burgers
For lunch on a Saturday
Baby doll been misbehaving
Had to take away her phone
She’s just a staring at the TV
Hashtag all alone
Mommy took Kobe running
Off the leash they’re in the zone
I’m eating quinoa cowboy burgers
On a Saturday afternoon
The jock climbed the rock to Newton
To ball against Kit-a-tin-i-a
He’s getting lots of minutes on the JV
Not so much on the Var-si-tay
And Bear’s meeting up with his friends
They’re over at Stephen J
And I’ve finished my quinoa cowboy burger
I’ve finished my quinoa cowboy burger
I’ve finished my quinoa cowboy burger
For lunch on a Saturday

Nanny Bread
02:29
|
|||
Water salt yeast flour too
Nanny bread for me and you
A twisted braid a three day rise
Nanny bread such sweet goodbyes
With her apron and her smile
Come on in and stay a while
I can’t think of a better way
Spending this rainy Saturday
Aromas dance you can taste the air
Nanny bread please take me there
While its warm the jam we spread
Feeding my soul with Nanny bread
When she isn’t here no more
I’ll open up my freezer door
Treasure I have stored within
Nanny bread we’ll have again
Nanny bread we’ll have again
Nanny bread we’ll have again

Rebel
05:21
|
|||
He’d tell stories about a hot rod GTO
389 with a six pack and that raped ape sure did go
He’d smoke the tires straight up through second gear
Through prospect park and north haledon a rebel without a fear
He had a pack of smokes rolled in his sleeve Marlboro red
Living hard and fast with no hesitation didn’t give a damn what they said
A pack of smokes rolled in his sleeve a brass zippo for a light
He’d say if it weren’t for bad luck hell I’d have none but I try to do whats right
He pulled up to the bar and had himself some beers
And then he stepped into his car and the man took his license for ten years
He came and stayed with us a while and we shared a room
Fighting for the TV in the morning were it Flintstones or Captain Kangaroo
He had a pack of smokes rolled in his sleeve Marlboro red
On the road towards reformation and a quieter life instead
A pack of smokes rolled in his sleeve a brass zippo for a light
He’d say if it weren’t for bad luck hell I’d have none but I try to do whats right
He had a mind that could engineer and design
Some clever way to solve a problem and he’d figure it every time
He’d take the time to share and show the things he knew
And he’d be teaching you how to think instead of just showing you how to do
He had a pack of smokes rolled in his sleeve Marlboro red
Contemplating each complication fore he took one step ahead
A pack of smokes rolled in his sleeve a brass zippo for a light
He’d say if it weren’t for bad luck hell I’d have none but I try to do whats right
And round good Friday he’d get a haircut and a shave
And then he’d place purple hyacinths on his Mothers grave
Now he’s gone and he’s left this world behind
But those purple hyacinths keep coming back each year right around Easter time
He had a pack of smokes rolled in his sleeve Marlboro red
Contemplating each complication fore he took one step ahead
A pack of smokes rolled in his sleeve a brass zippo for a light
He’d say if it weren’t for bad luck hell I’d have none but I try to do whats right

Before You Leave
02:25
|
|||
Before you leave
Before you go
Before you have all the answers to life’s questions
We all ask but could never know
We all ask but could never know
We all ask but could never know
Before you leave
Please take my hand
When words fall short and all you’ve got left are blank spaces
My child I understand
My child I understand
My child I understand
Now I take the final exit
But I ain’t out here on my own
I’ve been set free and riding shotgun
With the KING driving me home
Before you leave
Before you go
Before you have all the answers to life’s questions
We all ask but could never know
We all ask but could never know
We all ask but could never know

Masterpiece
03:46
|
|||
She’s an artist
She’s got big hopes and dreams
She’s a mother
She’s only seventeen
And life takes one small piece away
So the canvas waits for another day
She’s working three jobs
But the ends never seem to meet
She’s got a heart of gold
In a world full of concrete
And time takes one small piece away
So the canvas waits for another day
Now the kids are grown
Grand babies running round
Just a few more years
And then she’ll settle down
She’s worked so hard the toil and the tears
And the canvas calls they ain’t spoke in years
She’s got an easel
But she’s waiting to be set free
For the demons within
To be slain by this che-mo-ther-a-py
And the canvas ever so patiently waits
For the masterpiece
Tomorrow she’s gonna paint
For the masterpiece
Tomorrow she’s gonna paint
